About VPBrowse

VPBrowse 1.0 showcases tandem mass spectrometry data specific to cattle in a gene- and chromosome-centric interactive format.

Following user-friendly options are available to mine the data:

  • Search for a gene/protein - Users can use any keyword such as gene/protein ID/name, description, function, etc.
  • Search by peptide sequence - Users can paste a small peptide sequence and look for all the proteins that have similar peptides in Bovine.
  • Download data - Users can download the full peptide list and/or selected proteins either by search or by download section.
  • Visualization - Users can visualize the bovine genome via embedded Genome Browser where genes, proteins and peptides can be visualized as tracks.

The raw mass spectrometry files from TripleTOF 6600 instrument have been deposited to the ProteomeXchange consortium via the proteomics identifications (PRIDE) database ((http://www.ebi.ac.uk/pride/archive/, identifier PXD044768).
